Islands change faster than their brochures. A hurricane closes a state park for months, a resort misses its reopening date, an airline stops flying, a country shortens its visa-free stay or adds a fee you pay online. So every page on this site carries the date its facts were checked, links to the official page it checked them on, and says plainly where nobody publishes a number.

The writers do not choose the order of any list. One program scores all 64 islands on the same six factors, and the lists are sorted from those scores; the method page shows every weight. What the writers own are the two editorial scores, beaches and things to do, each published with a one-sentence reason, and the verdict on each island page: worth it, conditional or skip.
